7 Lakes Country Park is proud to announce that we are now a certified RYA PWC Training Centre. Training days to enable 7 Lakes Country Park Jet Ski Club members to gain RYA PWC Certification have been arranged with our instructor Jonathan Oddy of Just Add H2o.

The full day courses will be held at 7 Lakes Country Park on the Clearwater Lake and cater for groups of four or a family group if required. The day will start at 09:00 hrs and generally end at approximately 16:00. The courses will be held on weekdays and Saturdays, start in March and at regular intervals thereafter according to demand.

The Theory Section will cover:-

Personal Equipment - Launching & Landing - Safety Equipment - Collision Avoidance - Navigation At Sea Including Subjects Such As Charts - Buoys & Tides - Weather Forecasts - Personal Equipment.

The Practical Section will cover:-

Launching - Craft Familiarisation - Control At Slow Speed - Stopping Distances - Control At Speed - Following A Planned Route - Identifying Buoys & Marks - Collision regulations And Taking Avoiding Action - Slalom Exercise - Towing - Knots - Capsize & Righting.

What to bring on the day:-

Wetsuit / Drysuit (Depending On Time Of Year) - PFD With Kitemark - Windproof Jacket - Gloves - Waterproof Boots - Full Tank Of Petrol - 2 Passport Photographs.
If you are not a member of the RYA £15.00 is required in addition to the course fee to cover licence issuing costs.

Our new Jet Ski slalom section and marked course is operational - planned by Gary Smith, Jonathan Oddy and Jet Ski supremo Jeremy Hoyland, who until November last year, was running the JSRA, the British racing association for Jet Ski's. He has also been race director last year in Australia and for several years part of the race director team at world finals in Havasu.  The new Clearwater Lake marked course is more challenging and provides enjoyment for you the club members.  Have a look at it here - Course

Throughout the year Jonathan and Jeremy will be visiting the 7 Lakes Country Park facility to provide advice and some activity days for members.

As 7 Lakes Country Park requires RYA certification for all Jet Ski Club members in 2009 to enable us to provide a safe and enjoyable venue we hope that the training courses will be of interest.
